Origen (185-254 A.D.) - a.k.a. Origen of Alexandria - was an early [[Christian]] [[philosopher]], who lived in the [[East]], and especially in [[Alexandria]]. His beliefs were heavily influenced by early Christian [[gnosticism]] and Eastern philosophies such as [[Neo-Platonism]].
Some teachings of Origen were declared ''anathema'', making him a [[heretic]], in the decree of an ecumenical council, which also made the famous and influential philosopher [[Arius]] a heretic, as well.
