Talk:Writer's Guild of America (view source)
Revision as of 23:04, November 9, 2007

:::::Ok, if they're not there, I understand, so would you prefer to reword it? Members of the Hollywood Ten were influential in the Screen Writer's Guild, and they refused to cooperate with HUAC. HUAC was legitimately trying to discover how deep communist influence ran in Hollywood, so to my mind that makes the Hollywood Ten communist sympathizers. The important point that needs to be properly articulated in this article & elsewhere, dealing with the so-called "Hollywood Blacklist," and the so-called "Hollywood Ten," is this: these persons were not victims, and/or blacklisted by the United States Government, nor any Congressional Committee, nor any victimized by individual members of Congress. These persona were (1) convicted of crimes in a Court of Law; (2) allegeldy "blacklisted" by a private sector entity, i.e. the [[Motion Picture Academy of America (the very same outfit that dispense the Oscars). This must be clearly articulated, and further, used as an example of Communist, and also liberal media biases, hoaxes, and propaganda, that the true hisotrical facts have been grossly, and repeated distorted, if not nakedly lied about.
