I don't want to assume that the two are mutually exclusive, or even dichotomous. I like to think that they both influence each other. At the end of the day, Christianity gives me a reason to be conservative, yet often I find that many conservatives who believe the Bible just like me manage to find different interpretations of things that allows them to unquestioningly follow their apriori foci. I was raised to be very conservative, but I'm trying to make it my own and have answers that are better than: My parents told me. How does this question influence your internal perspectives?
