master of Rivendell
'''Elrond''' was master of [[Rivendell]] in ''[[The Lord of the Rings]]''. His daughter was betrothed to his ward, [[Aragorn]], whom he sent on many journeys of knight-errantry. Elrond presided over the council which chose the [[Fellowship of the Ring]] and assigned [[Frodo]] the quest of [[Mordor]].
