He was a [[racist]] who fired all the white members of SNCC. Later, another black nationalist and member of the [[Nation of Islam]], H. Rap Brown, changed the name of SNCC to '''Student National Coordinance Committee''', reflecting  the organization's suport of violence. The now-weakened SNCC utimately crumbled in the early 1970s.
