The Tigris River stretches from eastern [[Turkey]], through [[Syria]] and [[Iraq]], into the [[Persian Gulf]].
The [[Bible]] lists the Tigris River as one of four that flowed out of the land of [[Garden of Eden|Eden]], however [[young Earth creationism|young-Earth creationists]] believe that the current river and the Edenic river are not the same river, but that the current river was named after the Edenic river just as some rivers in [[Australia]] or [[United States of America|America]] are named after rivers back in [[Great Britain|Britain]].
