::::::::Actually, come to think of it - it is also perfectly possible to have respect for religious traditions and acknowledge the role of the church in the lives of our founding fathers without necessarily following those same religious traditions or the same  religion yourself.  Therefore it is perfectly possible to even follow that part of 'conservatism' without being Christian.
