:::*shrug* Minor print media is still media.  He got quite a bit of mention on a lot of the top blogs both left and right.  If notability is judged only by what the MSM chooses to report, then no, he's not that notable.  In this day and age, however, there's a lot more to notability than what a bunch of left-leaning news outlets choose to report or not.
