Unfortunately, Holocaust denial in Japan is tied to the Conservatives of that country. The Shukanshi and in particular the Shukan Bunshun is regarded as conservative, not liberal. It is in keeping with the overall Japanese conservative basic denial of responsibility and revisionist attitude towards Japanese actions during WWII. I suppose it is hard to fully accept that they were such close allies of the Nazis and participated,however indirectly,in one of the greatest tragedies in modern history.
