'''Bix Beiderbecke''' was a [[Jazz]] cornettist of the 1920s. He is arguably the most important white jazz musician of that decade - whilst, like most white bands of the time, he was inspired by the [[Original Dixieland Jazz Band]], he was able to introduce a unique lyrical sensibility into the music.

He died young in 1931 after years of persistent [[alcohol]] abuse.
