: A kangaroo's not all that bad a suggestion, but I'd reject it for several reasons:
:* A kangaroo has very large feet, which do not show here.
:* A kangaroo does use its tail for balancing, but does not have it on the ground for balance and turned up as shown in this picture.
:* The painting was done in North America.
