A deeply religious individual, Christopher is convinced that it was through God's providence that he survived a near-fatal motor vehicle accident in Guyana in 1978 (''God In Our Midst'', 2003, Xlibris Corp. pgs. 19-23). Apart from a number of minor injuries, he suffered a broken leg and an almost severed right hand. An account of the 1978 accident and the mention of other "miracles" in his life are contained in Persaud's 2003 book, ''God In Our Midst'' (Xlibris Corporation, USA). Persaud's other books include ''Famous People Speak About Jesus'' (Xlibris Corporation, 2004); ''Transformed Lives'' (Xlibris Corporation, 2005) and ''Evolution: Beyond the Realm of Real Science'' (Xulon Press, USA, 2007)<ref>
