Legalization of illegal drugs, especially [[marijuana]], is a [[liberal]] political position.  The 2005 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (1) showed different rates of illicit drug use in different ethnic groups.  Rates for use in the past 30 days was as follows:  American Indian/Alaska Native 12.8%, African-American 9.7%, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander 8.7%, Caucasian 8.1%, Hispanic 7.6%, and Asian-American 3.1%.  The report also states that among individuals aged 12 years and older, 59.6% of American Indian/Alaska Natives, 53.6% of Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders, 49% of Caucasians, 44% of African-Americans, 36.4% of Hispanics, and 16-37% of Asian-Americans have ever used illegal drugs.
