"Ethnicity" mistakenly redirects here, even though they are two very distinct concepts. "Race" is the grouping together of people based on superficial characteristics (i.e. black, white, asian, and so on). "Ethnicity" refers to grouping based upon shared cultural, historical, or similar heritages. Conflating the two is a very common error of ignorance, so we should not encourage it.--[[User:TomMoore|TomMoore]] 00:51, 6 March 2008 (EST)
