But GWB is, by most measures, fairly representative of the Republican right (and the religious right to some degree) whereas as none of the three front-runners are. And while there may well be a "religion left", it appears to have nothing like the political impact that the well-organised religious right does. Definitely not! When the Dems strolled home in the mid-terms, who would have thought that a Republican (albeit a moderate one) would be so well placed to retain the presidency less than 18 months later?
