Tom Cruise was a bit spoiled at times.  During the filming of ''Top Gun'', a movie about the [[Navy Fighter Weapons School]], one of the scenes being shot in an F-14 went wrong.  After the scene was finished, he took off his sunglasses and flung them on the floor of the fighter as hard as he could.  They shattered, and the cockpit of an [[airplane]] is a bad place for anything to be loose.  A piece of glass could jam the stick, or the [[ejection seat]] mechanism.  He should have been bawled out by the admiral for putting one of his fighter ''hors de combat''.

On another occasion, the helicopter that took the actors out to the [[aircraft carrier]] to shoot some scenes broke down and could not be used for the return trip.  Most of the other actors talked with the crew, signed autographs, and generally were nice about having to stay on the ship overnight, but Tom Cruise was sulky and would not sign any autographs.
