The Congress of Vienna was a conference held in [[Vienna]] between the major powers at the end of the [[War of 1812]], just a few months before the deafeat of [[Napoleon]] at the battle of [[Waterloo Bridge]]. Present at the Congress were [[Castlereagh]] of Great Britain, [[Metternich]] of Austria, and [[Talleyrand]] of France.
[[Alexander I]] of Russia was also present, although he communicated only through his foreign minister. The [[United States]] chose not to attend the conference, as it had no Continental ambitions at the time.
