Saudi Arabia is unfortunate but unfortunately realpolitik has to play some role. Cuba, as a communist nation and at the foot of the US was always going to be a threat during the Cold War. It was important to keep it weak. However, since many other countries who are probably even worse than Cuba aren't sanctioned, maybe their is a fair argument to life the sanction.
