'''Paint.NET''' is free image creation and editing software written in the [[C#]] programming language under the [[.Net]] 2.0 framework. It was originally an undergraduate college senior design project mentored by [[Microsoft]], intended as a free replacement for the MS Paint software that comes with Windows. It is now being actively developed into a fully featured image manipulation program similar to Adobe Photoshop.
