The Old Testament is a romanticised novel with a dark side - shrouded in mystery and with a malevolent, aggressive and homophobic main character, nicknamed as 'God' by the authors - bringing in an excellent social commentary about the dangers of GULLIBILITY and SUSCEPTIBILITY of the human mind to conformist idealogies. However the mention of Gods so called 'Plan' seems a bit too far-fetched and the narrative structure is especially poor - it is never explained why the characters simply GIVE UP ALL LOGICAL THOUGHT and begin to worship this 'Almighty God' as the one true path. I was rather hoping that in the sequel the authors would explain this, but 'The New Testament' is simply a dumbed down version and lacks any of the punch that this book contains.
The Old Testament is, in essence, a statement of the prehistory of [[Jesus Christ]]. It documents the creation of the world by God, and the tribulations and errors of human beings, in particular His chosen people the Israelites.
