The [[New International Version]] is a manifestation of Liberal Christianity. The NIV was written to make the [[Bible]] more convenient to read, but, whether maliciously or unwittingly, it has undermined the very meaning of the scripture. As stated above, Liberal Christians view the Bible as the ''witness'' of [[God]] rather than the ''word'' of God, so they have no qualms in altering the words in order to subtly create a more contemporary gospel.
It is clear from the absence of Acts 8:37 in the NIV, that the verse was removed for the sake of pandering to [[Catholicism]]. Liberal Christians claim the verse was not in the original manuscripts; is their motive purely to preserve the infallible scriptures? The verse says "And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest [be baptized]. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." (Acts 8:37, KJV) This demonstrates that to be baptized, [[Salvation]] is needed first. The Catholics believe in [[infant baptism]], thereby isolating themselves from the meaning of the King James Version. All of the new versions, while claiming good intentions, are motivated to dilute doctrine and truth. Than all Christians will become Liberal Christians. In the broadest senses, liberal means "new," conservative means "old." A "New" (liberal) version will make for liberal Christians.
