/* Atheists denying existence of historical Jesus? */
There is no evidence that jesus was anything other than a man other than one book, the bible which could very well have been a collection of childrens stories used to teach morals.
<BR><BR>
I am an Athiest, but I do not believe in Jesus, here is why:
1) no historical record (exc bible)
The Romans recorded mundane stuff like grain prices and new roads, surely they'd at least cover stories of someone walking over water, making bread out of well, not much and turning water into wine (that would be pretty cool) oh and returning from the dead after being crucified; seems odd really, especially considering the large military presence they had in that area, plenty of eyes around to record.

2) plenty of the things surrounding Jesus and his birth (Virgin birth, three kings, etc etc) are present in ancient stories form around that region, noted in Greek works, Babylonian works and Romantic Fiction.

3) The New Testament wasn't actually written down until the 3rd century; can you imagine three centuries of Chinese Wispers combined with a young, fledging religion that needed to build itself up? it could practically make anything up it wanted

Please feel free to contact me for discussion / spouting the bible at me!
