We discuss the impact in Nazi Germany, but it didn't stop there.  The United States had its own program to sterilize inferiors prior to World War II with some at the time even complaining that the Nazis were pulling ahead of us.  The impact of evolutionary thought was taking hold across all Western culture.  Thankfully that ended when the horrors of the Holocaust were seen, but it was certainly a striking time in our own history as well - and one that is usually ignored so as not to show the path we went down with "survival of the fittest" even in our own country.
