Sid Vicious (real name John Simon Ritchie, 10 May 1957 - 2 February 1979) was the bassist for infamous [[punk rock]] band [[The Sex Pistols]]. Infamous for his wild persona and "live fast, die young" attitude, he died of a heroin overdose on in February, 1979, while awaiting trial for his girlfriend's [[murder]]. His time in the Sex Pistols is documented in the popular 1986 film ''Sid and Nancy''.
