::::: I would think that everyone has a "need to believe", but some satisfy, at least partially, that need with other answers. It is true that many people believe in God for purely personal reasons, but it's false to say that personal feeling is the only basis for belief. God can be deduced logically, and quite a few people have come to believe in God not because of personal experience or feelings, but because of the overwhelming evidence.
