A popular story theme is Linus' blanket which he still takes with him and that he somehow uses to do things that regular blankets could not do.  He also believes in ''The Great Pumpkin''.  [[Sally (Peanuts)|Sally]] has a crush on him, but he doesn't show any interest in girls, mirroring real life where boys usually take longer before they start to like girls than girls do to start to like boys.  Apart from Charlie Brown, Linus is the only other human character who really hangs out with [[Snoopy]].
