*No, not if "fundamentalist" means "Bible literalist." The Ten Commandments includes "the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work." In Luke 2:23-27, "And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?" The Pharisees are interpreting the Bible literally. Jesus replies "The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath," and gives reasons for honoring the spirit, rather than the exact letter of the Ten Commandments. I can see how not knowing the purpose of the "Law" in relation to the Temple sacrifice will cause misunderstandings. Jesus is referring to how corrupted the Pharisees had become with their legalisms and religion for religion sake mentality. They were no longer fundamentalists. That is why Jesus is teaching them the fundamentals of His Word. If you are going to challenge Christians who have a fundamental understanding and know what is being literally said in His Word, keep trying.
