John Schlafly is a lawyer. He is the son of [[Phyllis Schlafly]], a [[conservative]] activist. John is the director of Alton, Illinois branch of the [[Eagle Forum Education & Legal Defense Fund]], a conservative group founded by his mother.

John is the director of Alton, Illinois branch of the [[Eagle Forum Education & Legal Defense Fund]], a conservative group founded by his mother.  As such, he has been partly responsible for promoting the group's anti-same-sex marriage agenda.

 

In 1992, he was publicly outed as a gay man by Michelangelo Signorile.  John Schlafly has never actively sought to conceal his sexual orientation.
