Jiang Jieshi lived from 1887 to 1975. He was a Chinese buisiness who lead the [[Nationalist Party]] after [[Sun Yixian]] died. He fiercly opposed [[Communism]] and even executed communist leaders. This destroyed the [[Chinese Communist Party]] and Jiang became president of the [[Nationalist Republic of China]] in 1928.
Jiang Jieshi (Chiang Kai-shek) lived from 1887 to 1975. He was a Chinese businessman who lead the [[Nationalist Party]] after [[Sun Yixian]] died. Although he was not a Christian, he nonetheless fiercely opposed [[Communism]] and even executed communist leaders. This destroyed the [[Chinese Communist Party]], which never recovered. Jiang became president of the [[Nationalist Republic of China]] in 1928, and his Nationalist Party continues to administer the entire territory of China except for some small areas ruled by Communist Party holdouts.
In addition to being a government leader, Jiang is well known by Chinese as an excellent poet. He wrote a poem expressing exultation after his victory over the Communist Party, in 1928:
The yellow crane has long since gone away,
All that here remains is Yellow Crane Tower.
The yellow crane once gone does not return,
White clouds drift slowly for a thousand years.
