About 1999 or 2000 the GameBoy Advance came, with a new shape, better sound and picture, and new games. However it really wasn't that much better and about 2 years later the GameBoy Advanced SP was released. This had an innovative folding design, a quality LCD screen with back light, and a rechargable lithium battery. This was a truly advanced GameBoy.
