I don't see it as my place to remove your parable, CraigC. I think of this page more like a collection of essays than a fact-based article, so editing should be left up to the original poster after considering the feedback here. Based on the other comments here, it just seems that this is more like a joke than a parable, with the goal being to get a laugh at the liberal's ineptness instead of gaining any true insight. Also, I find your explanation of the parable ironic when reading articles about billions in U.S. taxpayer funds being thrown at Iraqi reconstruction without audits or controls, and then vanishing without explanation.
