The Parthian shot saw dramatic usage in the defeat of [[Crassus]], where, according to [[Plutarch]], Parthian soldiers facing west in the early morning used the sun reflecting off their armor to blind their enemies.  They then circled them to barrage them with arrow fire, and rode away, executing the Parthian shot maneuver to decimate those still standing.
