The '''Aran Islands''' (Ir: ''Oilean Arran'') are a small island group off the west coast of [[Ireland]] in the North [[Atlantic]] Ocean, and are a part of [[County Galway]]. The group consists of three islands and a number of islets and rocks. The islands are Inishmore (''Inis Mor''), Inishmaan (''Inis Meain'') and Inisheer (''Inis Oirr''). Fishing, subsistence farming and tourism are the main industries; the islands are also a stronghold of the [[Irish Language]].
