President Clinton signed into law H.R. 4655, the [[Iraq]] Liberation Act. This act declares that it should be the policy of the [[United States]] to seek to remove the [[Saddam Hussein]] regime from power in Iraq and to replace it with a democratic government. Also that same year, Saddam had kicked out UN weapons inspectors and President Clinton ordered aerial bombings of key targets. Under President Clinton, the US Military was patrolling two Iraqi no-fly zones, one in southern Iraq, the other over Northern Iraq.
