In my own country the leader of the largest centre-right party says is an atheist, while the leader of the leftist Progressives is a staunch Catholic. I agree that conservatism is about maintaining the status quo, but I don't think liberals are in any way evil or diabolically inspired - 200 years ago, the emancipation of slaves was seen as a liberal view. Of course there are confused people.  Christians who are political liberals will always be found to have small or very large and obvious, cracks in their theology.  Currently, it is not possible to integrate Christianity into the Democratic political platform.  If one is called into politics, or into working for a political cause or simply trying to vote with integrity, a Christian cannot support todays liberalism.  A Democrat who claims to be Christian will inevitably be found to lack theological integrity and will be revealed as a liberal through and through.
