The '''Peabody Awards''' are an annual honor named after George Foster Peabody. The awards are administered for excellence in [[radio]] and [[television]] broadcasting and were first given out in 1941. Initially, the award was only merited in the field of radio but in 1948, television awards were introduced and in the 1990's a World Wide Web category was added.
