: The only honest ways of a pregnancy not happening are if fertilization naturally fails or you abstain from sex altogether. The Biblical story of [[Onan]] documented his dishonest and sinful act of engaging in sexual union with his brother's wife but "spilling his seed" to prevent pregnancy. God punished him for that deceptive avoidance of one of the purposes of sexual congress, especially since it was his duty to bear his dead brother's child.
