I believe it would be appropriate to acknowledge that Jews became economically ascendant in Medieval Europe through their exploitation of the Catholic Church's prohibition of usury (money lending) as an opportunity to monopolize the banking industry. In a similar vein, we might want to mention that although Jews continue to control the vast majority of the world's wealth, they are typically miserly in both their personal and business dealings. Although political correctness has prevented this latter point from being written in a "reputable source" (anyone daring to write it would surely be suffer a modern-day crucifixion), this would seem to be an ideal case to use original research, which is thankfully permitted on CP.
