There's no big "mystery" here. Senator and Mrs Obama have made no secret of the fact that they--like many others who did not have wealthy parents--financed their educations largely via student loans. :Well we can probably rule out Fox News being in Obama's pocket - however this isn't a definitive answer as it's quoting from his wife . It also doesn't rule out a scholarship - it's certainly possible to have both loans and a scholarship. I'd like some hard evidence either way here but it might be hard to come by. Would the educational institutions themselves confirm whether any scholarships were awarded and if so the qualifications for said scholarships? :Aschlafly, as you say "It's a mystery how someone..." That's exactly the point. If it's a mystery, then why would you assert something about his scholarships that should require citation? It's argumentum ad ignorantiam, and it sounds biased. He mostly likely did have scholarships, but for all we know they were exactly the same scholarships available to all other students. Your statement assumes a great deal for someone who admits that the truth is unknown. I am new here and I would like this project to be taken seriously, and I respectfully submit that unfounded allegations such as those will cost us much credibility.
