'''Operation Joshua''' was a [[CIA]] sponsored mission to bring [[Jews]] from [[Sudan]] to [[Israel]]. <br/>
It began in 1985, and was organized by [[Vice President]] [[George H. W. Bush]] as a follow up to [[Operation Moses]]. The operation brought an additional 800 Jews back to Israel. In the next five years the transfer of Jews back to Israel stopped, and did not resume until the end of dictator [[Mengistu Haile Mariam]]'s regime.
