The '''St. Lawrence River''' is a large [[river]] which connects the [[Great Lakes]] with the [[Atlantic Ocean]] and is the primary drainage of the [[Great Lakes Basin]]. Starting near [[Kingston]] at the eastern end of [[Lake Ontario]] it flows 744 mi1es (1197 km) in an approximately northeast direction to the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and the Atlantic. The river largely flows through the Canadian provinces of [[Quebec]] and [[Ontario]] but also forms part of the international boundary between [[Canada]], and the [[U.S.]].
