*Perhaps to create the illusion of scarcity. What if oil was not really a [[fossil fuel]] made eons before Adam and Eve? What if there is no Santa Claus? Tooth Ferry? Easter Bunny? Then the myth of [[Peak oil]] would not be possible either. The only real question is did G_D make a fixed amount of oil or is there a process that creates oil? He didn't. It formed from decaying plant and animal matter over millions of years.
