'''Captain Planet and the Planeteers''', often refered to as simply '''Captain Planet''' after the title character, is an American animated childrens' television series produced from 1990 to 1992. It openly advances an [[environmentalist]] and [[New Age]] agenda, with the superhero team fighting various pollution-causing villains under the guidance of the Earth Goddess. Villains pollute just for the pleasure of polluting, rather than showing the reality that pollution is a necessary and unavoidable component of any industry or economic venture.
