Goldwater was married twice. He was married to [[Margaret Johnson|Margaret Goldwater]] from 1934 until her death in 1985. They had four children: Joanne, Barry, Michael, and Peggy. In 1992 Goldwater married Susan Shaffer Lechers. They remained married until his death in 1998.
