The '''British Empire''' was the largest empire the World has ever seen.  At its height in the nineteenth and early twentieth century, it included a quarter of the world's population.  The empire included [[Canada]], [[South Africa]], [[Australia]], [[New Zealand]], [[India]], [[Egypt]], [[Iraq]], [[Tristan da Cunha]], [[Pitcairn Island]], [[Singapore]], [[Ireland]], [[Hong Kong]], the [[Bahamas]], [[Basutoland]], the [[Falkland Islands]], [[Zululand]] and many other underdeveloped countries.  Unlike any other empire in history, it ended entirely peacefully and the grateful natives of the various countries formed a commonwealth, acknowledging the [[Queen of England]] as its leader.
