Emanuel, who Obama has selected as his chief of staff, is the son of a terrorist in the radical Irgun group, who were responsible for the King David Hotel bombing.

Emanuel's father, Dr. Benjamin M. Emanuel, was born in [[Jerusalem]], and was a member of Irgun, a militant Zionist group operating in [[Palestine]] between 1931 and 1948.  Irgun was responsible for the 1946 King David Hotel bombing in Jerusalem.
