In any case, he's not hostile toward Muslims, as are some Christian leaders. You know the type: they go around saying, "Jesus is not Allah", as if this invalidates all of Islam. I'd rather have [[Islam]] than [[communism]]. --[[User:Ed Poor|Ed Poor]] [[User talk:Ed Poor|Talk]] 12:44, 12 November 2008 (EST)

: I'm not arguing that he's hostile towards muslims at all. I simply find the argument that he is one on the far side of reality. [[User:EternalCritic|EternalCritic]] 12:49, 12 November 2008 (EST)

We should move this thread to [[talk:Nation of Islam]] but:
*The Nation of Islam preaches adherence to the Five Pillars of the Islamic Faith: shahadah, or profession of faith; salat, or prayer, five times daily facing toward Mecca; zakat, charity to the poor; sawm, fasting during the holy month of Ramadan; and hajj, a pilgrimage to Mecca required of every Muslim financially and physically able to go, at least once in his or her lifetime.
So it seems NOI is related to Islam, in the sense of having some ideas and practices in common. The question is whether either group identifies with the other. That is, does NOI claim to be Muslim (or part of Islam)? And - a separate question - does Islam accept/repudiate NOI? --[[User:Ed Poor|Ed Poor]] [[User talk:Ed Poor|Talk]] 12:52, 12 November 2008 (EST)
