Because it's not something he still does. If he were a muslim, (which I don't think he is even though I'm sceptical about his "christianity") it would be a bigger deal that his past drug use because it would probably affect his pollcies. --[[User:BenjaminS|Ben]] [[User Talk:BenjaminS|Talk]] 23:26, 18 November 2008 (EST)

::extreme black fringe groups for years have been promoting this nonsense about Lincoln, Jefferson etc., which many conservative scholars (including myself) have looked into and rejected as false. (the Harding stuff was a KKK rumor in the 1920s and equally false.) It's false witness. [[User:RJJensen|RJJensen]] 23:41, 18 November 2008 (EST)

British, Irish, German, and Kenyan are not racial identities.  They are nationalities.  It'd even be a stretch to consider them ethnicities.  Further, while Obama claims to be part-Cherokee, there's no particular evidence for that (other than family rumor).  His father was black (African) and his mother was white--hence, bi-racial.  I also removed the bit about Obama struggling to be accepted as black by the black community, which is just silly, but I'll leave it in for now, in the interests of parity.--[[User:RossC|RossC]] 12:33, 19 November 2008 (EST)
