Each of the smurfs often has a skill or trait unique to himself (there are only three females in the enitre community who exist more for plot purposes) which assists the Smurfs in some way. For example, there is Brainy Smurf (the cleverest of the lot) and Papa Smurf (who looks after all the younger members).
