Tim Conway was actually born Thomas Daniel Conway. He played Ensign Charles Parker on the television show ''McHale's Navy'' from 1962 to 1966. Later he made poplar appearances on the ''Carol Burnett Show'' and starred in several movies including ''They Went That Away and That Away'' and ''The Longshot'' which he also wrote.
